Job description

We offer outpatient psychotherapy for clients with mild to moderate acuity and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for clients with higher acuity. A typical clinician at LGTC allocates two-thirds of his / her time in the outpatient setting and one-third in the Intensive Outpatient Program. An ideal candidate is passionate about their work and enjoys working with all age groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person and/or telehealth services including assessment, triage, crisis support, and individual and/or group therapy for patients experiencing a range of mental health symptoms in a trauma-informed and culturally responsive manner.
  • Develop and implement a treatment plan for patients and affected family members.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other clinicians regarding patients’ progress and treatment, providing referrals when needed.
  • Independently manage complex caseload in back-to-back 30-minute windows and complete administrative duties in a fast-paced medical clinic setting.
  • Complete clinical documentation within 48 hours of services in accordance with working hours, all documentation must comply with Medi-Cal, Medicare, Partnership, Beacon Health guidelines. Participate in peer chart reviews and other quality improvement efforts.
  • Available for an in-person or video-based crisis, triage, and consultation during primary care and substance use disorder treatment hours. · Complies with established department policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and patient service standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must be independently licensed to provide mental health services in the state of California.
  • Must be able to learn and regularly use an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Child Abuse Index Check (CAIC) background clearance.
  • Strong knowledge base and experience with CBT and DBT preferred!
  • Experience in treatment of substance abuse and eating disorders* is preferred*
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to use hands to handle or feel objects. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This position requires standing, sitting, walking, climbing, and kneeling.

Education Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree (MA/ MS) in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Marriage, and FamilyCounseling or a closely related field required.

    Compensation:

    • Hourly position (part-time) or annualized salary (full-time) ranges from $85k to $120k depending on hours per week worked, starting with a minimum of 25 clinical hours per week for a salaried position.
